Privacy Policy for Timefall
Last Updated: January 22, 2026
1. Introduction
Timefall ("the App") is an iOS meditation and mindfulness timer application developed by Ilia Usatov ("Developer"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our App.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the highest standards of data security, especially when handling health-related information through Apple HealthKit integration.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Data We Do NOT Collect
Timefall is designed with privacy-first principles:
- No analytics or tracking: We do not use Firebase, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or any other third-party analytics services to track your behavior within the app.
- No advertising networks: We do not collect data for advertising purposes and do not use your data to serve ads.
- No personal identification data (PII): We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide your name, email, phone number, or other personal identifiers.
- No data transmission to third parties: All data remains on your device. We do not send your usage data, preferences, or health information to our servers or to third-party services.
- No cookies or tracking technologies: We do not use cookies, pixels, or similar tracking mechanisms.
2.2 Technical Data (Local Only)
The App collects only the following technical data, which is stored locally on your device only:
- Session duration: How long you practice mindfulness during each session.
- Number of sessions: Count of completed meditation sessions.
- Settings preferences: Your app configuration choices (theme, notification settings, etc.).
This data is used solely to improve your experience within the App and is never transmitted to external servers.
2.3 Health Data and Apple HealthKit Integration
2.3.1 Purpose of HealthKit Integration
Timefall integrates with Apple HealthKit to help you track your mindfulness practice in one central place on your device. Specifically:
- The App requests write-only access to the "Mindful Minutes" category in Apple Health.
- When you complete a meditation session, the App can record the duration as Mindful Minutes in your Health app.
- This allows you to see all your mindfulness activity consolidated with your other health data.
2.3.2 What We Do NOT Do With Health Data
This is critical: Timefall does NOT read your existing health data. We do not access:
- Your pulse, heart rate, or cardiac data
- Your weight, body measurements, or metabolic data
- Your sleep records or sleep analysis
- Your exercise or physical activity data
- Any other medical or biometric information stored in Apple Health
We only write data about your mindfulness sessions. We do not read any data from the Health app.
2.3.3 No Use of Health Data for Advertising or Data Mining
In accordance with Apple's App Store guidelines, we explicitly commit to the following:
Data obtained from HealthKit or sent to HealthKit will NEVER be used for:
- Marketing or advertising purposes
- Data mining or behavioral profiling
- Sharing with third-party data brokers or advertisers
- Training machine learning models without your explicit consent
- Any purpose unrelated to improving your ability to manage your health
We do not and will not transmit your HealthKit data to advertising networks, social media platforms, or any external analytics services.
2.3.4 Data Storage and Synchronization
- Your Mindful Minutes data is synced exclusively within Apple's HealthKit ecosystem on your device.
- You maintain complete control over this data through the Health app.
- You can delete any recorded sessions directly through the Health app at any time.
- Deleting the Timefall App does not delete data already recorded in Health—that remains under your control.
2.4 Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Since all data is stored locally, no child data is transmitted to our servers.
3. How We Use Your Data
3.1 Local App Functionality
We use the technical data collected within the App to:
- Provide you with personalized meditation sessions
- Track your progress over time
- Improve the user interface and fix bugs
- Enhance overall App performance
3.2 No Analytics or Crash Reporting
We do not use any third-party analytics or crash reporting SDKs (such as Firebase, Sentry, or Mixpanel). All error handling is performed locally on your device to ensure maximum privacy.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
4.1 Local Data Retention
- All session data and preferences are stored locally on your device.
- Data persists until you manually delete the App or clear the App's data through iOS Settings.
- Uninstalling the App will delete all local data associated with it.
4.2 HealthKit Data Retention
- Data synced to HealthKit remains there indefinitely unless you delete it through the Health app.
- Deleting the Timefall App does NOT automatically delete data from Health.
- You can manage and delete individual sessions or all HealthKit data through the Health app's privacy and data management interface.
4.3 Account Deletion
Timefall does not require you to create an account. All data is stored locally on your device. There is nothing to delete on our servers because we maintain no user databases.
If you wish to delete all your data:
- In iOS Settings, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Timefall.
- Tap Delete App and select Delete App.
- For HealthKit data, open the Health app, navigate to your Mindful Minutes entries, and delete them directly.
5. Your Privacy Rights
5.1 Control Over Your Data
You have full control over your data:
- HealthKit permissions: You can revoke write access to HealthKit at any time in Settings > Privacy > Health.
- Notifications: You can disable app notifications through iOS Settings.
- App Data: You can delete all local app data by uninstalling the App. Please note that deleting the App does NOT delete data previously written to Apple Health; you must delete that data directly in the Apple Health app.
5.2 California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and GDPR Rights
If you are a resident of California, the EU, or a jurisdiction with similar privacy laws, you have additional rights:
- Right to Know: You can request what data is collected about you. Since we collect no PII and store everything locally on your device, this is limited to your own session data.
- Right to Delete: You can delete your data by uninstalling the App or through Health app controls.
- Right to Opt-Out: Since we do not sell or share your data, there is nothing to opt out of.
- Do Not Sell My Personal Information: We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone.
6. Security
We take security seriously:
- All data remains encrypted on your device using iOS native encryption.
- We do not maintain servers or databases that could be breached.
- We do not transmit your health or personal data over the internet.
- The App uses HTTPS for any minimal network communication related to app updates or in-app purchases.
7. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to external websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies before providing any information.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
